依據溫家寶頒佈的這份<a href="http://www.hlraohe.gov.cn/zwgk/wtj/wtj_zcl07.htm" rel="nofollow">管理條例</a>:

..

使我想起<a href="http://thosewerethedays.wordpress.com/2008/04/12/%e5%8f%aa%e5%ae%b9%e8%b2%aa%e5%ae%98%e3%80%81%e4%b8%8d%e5%ae%b9%e5%b0%8f%e5%81%b7%ef%bc%9f/" rel="nofollow">這篇</a>文章

張藝謀營運中心中央大廳里貼著<a href="http://www.infzm.com/content/15978" rel="nofollow">什麼</a>

As a member of an overseas audience who watched the Opening Ceremony live on the BBC, and who have read mainly Western commentary on the fakery involved, allow me to correct a few misconceptions here:

1. During the Opening Ceremony, the BBC commentators were diligent in reading out the names of the performers or dignitaries involved in the event. So for example, Zhang Yimou was mentioned and credited numerous times as being the brains behind the dazzling displays. When it comes to the girl singing "Ode to the Motherland", the BBC narrator actually said that the run-down of the show listed the girl as being just "a typcial Chinese school child" (note singular noun). At the time I was mentally applauding the CCP for not naming the little girl, thinking it was characteristic of the Chinese mentality to not single-out individuals but to give credit to the collective.

So even if show programmes did list both names, it definitely was not apparent to Western audiences (and indeed, local audiences within China) that lip-synching had occurred and that two performers were involved rather than just one little girl.

2. Nobody (including Western media) are suggesting that the kids themselves should be blamed. Rather, the Western commentators were merely amused by (and some were aghast at) the length to which the authorities in Mainland China went to create a superficially perfect image.

3. Nobody is saying that a show, or even art in general, does not involve artifice. Performing arts by definition is about putting on an act. But even so, there are certain parameters regarding audiences' expectations. In this case, the majority of the audience feels cheated when what they thought they saw was a live performance by one little girl was in fact lip-synched and not sung live, and what's even more outrageous was that the played back version was not even sung by the girl herself but somebody else. The "fakery" is thus not just merely an element of the artifice needed for an expected performance (e.g. like the wire-fu needed to bring Li Ning up to light the torch), but "fakery" for the purpose of cheating audiences.

4. What's more galling is not so much that the authorities decided to combine the looks of one girl with the voice of another to create what they deemed to be a "perfect" show; but the fact that they use the excuse of "the girl with the perfect singing voice doesn't have a "flawless" physical appearance". This "rationale" is not just some online rumours but was cited by the NYT, BBC, the Guardian as coming from the producer himself during the radio interview. This is what is really hurtful to both of the two little girls involved, and why there is an uproar from audiences with a progressive conscience. If anyone is involved in 人身攻擊 then, it is the authorities and the production team themselves who have no qualms about criticising the perceived shortcomings of both girls and used this as the reason for arranging the lip-synch.

5. What is really sad about the whole thing, is not that the Western media now has yet another excuse to criticise the Beijing Olympics, but that this has become the perfect symbol of all that is wrong with contemporary China regarding the prevalence of faked goods and disregard of intellectual property. How ironic that the Chinese authorities thought that they are helping to create a "perfect" image of China by arranging this lip-synch when they have done the exact opposite and given the rest of the world the perfect foil to destroy the reputation of China further. It is, in terms of stupidity, on a par with roughing up journalists (both domestic and foreign) while they are trying to create an image of a welcoming China.

6. It seems that none of the decision-makers who okayed the lip-synch have heard of such a thing as "authentic charm", especially where innocent kids are concerned.

3. Nobody is saying that a show, or even art in general, does not involve artifice. Performing arts by definition is about putting on an act. But even so, there are certain parameters regarding audiences’ expectations. In this case, the majority of the audience feels cheated when what they thought they saw was a live performance by one little girl was in fact lip-synched and not sung live, and what’s even more outrageous was that the played back version was not even sung by the girl herself but somebody else. The “fakery” is thus not just merely an element of the artifice needed for an expected performance (e.g. like the wire-fu needed to bring Li Ning up to light the torch), but “fakery” for the purpose of cheating audiences.

4. What’s more galling is not so much that the authorities decided to combine the looks of one girl with the voice of another to create what they deemed to be a “perfect” show; but the fact that they use the excuse of “the girl with the perfect singing voice doesn’t have a “flawless” physical appearance”. This “rationale” is not just some online rumours but was cited by the NYT, BBC, the Guardian as coming from the producer himself during the radio interview.

How ironic that the Chinese authorities thought that they are helping to create a “perfect” image of China by arranging this lip-synch when they have done the exact opposite and given the rest of the world the perfect foil to destroy the reputation of China further. It is, in terms of stupidity, on a par with roughing up journalists (both domestic and foreign) while they are trying to create an image of a welcoming China.

6. It seems that none of the decision-makers who okayed the lip-synch have heard of such a thing as “authentic charm”, especially where innocent kids are concerned.
