Semi Stage is a good idea. This can under cut the production cost. You only need an orchestra, some good soloists and a chorus.

I watched Scottish Opera production about 3 years ago. Guess how much did I pay for all 4 nights with a stall seat? Just GBP120, a big bargain (of couse the ticket has been heavely subsidized by local council)!

Scottich Opera took four years to complete the product. It was part of the Edinburgh International Festival project. Although there wasn’t any Big Name, it was a great production. Elizabeth Byrne did a good job as Brunnhilde.

i_pang：對！台灣之前曾上演Tristan，不過也好像是音樂會形式，不是full opera。不過澳門是否曾上《名歌手》，則不記得了（如果有的話，我會仆崩鼻搭船去澳門睇！）。

公園仔：唔，現在只能寄望de Waart用音樂會形式演出Ring啦。

又，我也覺得Salome的做法可取。

如果真是有那麼多技術問題, Ring 其實可以選擇以演奏會形式在香港上演. Edo de Waart 也做過了這種演出, 例如: R.Strauss 的 Salome.

香港不上, 恐怕是有關方面擔心票房不濟,
又或者是那些主事人, 只喜意大利貨而不喜德國貨吧?

印象中, 台灣上演過 Tristan and Isolde, 澳門那邊亦上演過名歌手, 反而香港這邊的歌劇節目, 總是意大利貨, 永遠都是 Aida.
