CD Cover of “Ella Fitzgerald Sings The Cole Porter Song Book” (via Verve)

今晚約了人在上環吃晚飯，傍晚時見有時間，於是早了點出門口，到了中環的ＨＭＶ逛。本來只是到那裡 Window Shopping 的，但是一走到爵士樂的部門，發現原來不少由 Verve 所出的 Master Edition 復刻紙盒版唱片都大減價發售！這個版本的唱片，在港的售價都一直定得十分昂貴，像ＨＭＶ這樣的「謀人寺」，一隻雙碟版本的ＣＤ，隨時可以定價達三百港元之譜！所以即使 Verve 早已出版了 Ella Fitzgerald 的 Song Book 全集，我也可望不可買，因為，太貴了！

見有如此著數，即時「發狂」查看有沒有 Ella Fitzgerald 的唱片，結果給我找到其中五套 Song Book 的唱片，分別是 Irving Berlin、Cole Porter、Harold Arlen、Johnny Mercer 及 Rogers and Hart ，計上來，真是省回了不少－－差不多一半價錢！現時 Song Book 系列只差兩套，待有機會再到其他唱片分店「尋寶」去！

there r 8 songbooks in total. dont miss one!

and the 2 “swings gently/brightly with nelson”, a collection of great standards alongside the songbook series, r essential, too.
